Sphinx & red bus

A dark bronze sphinx statue on the Victoria Embankment in London sits in the foreground, its lion paws extended forward on a stone plinth. Egyptian hieroglyphics and a cartouche are visible on its chest. Behind it, the Thames stretches toward Waterloo Bridge, with a red double-decker bus crossing. The South Bank skyline — including the distinctive curved Vase building and tall glass towers — rises under a clear blue spring sky. An ornate Victorian lamp post stands to the left beside bare-branched trees.
