Canary Wharf from Greenwich Park

A landscape photograph from Greenwich Park. The green slope in the foreground leads to the white classical architecture of the Queen’s House and the National Maritime Museum. In the mid-ground, the domes of the University of Greenwich are visible, with the dense skyscraper cluster of Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs forming the background under an overcast sky.

This view from the heights of Greenwich Park, near the Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian, looks north across a significant ensemble of history.

The Queen’s House and its connecting colonnades in the foreground now house the National Maritime Museum. Behind it stand the twin domes of the Old Royal Naval College, designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Today, the site serves as the campus for the University of Greenwich, while the modern skyline of Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs rises in the background.
