Huntlosen

My route took me alongside streams and open fields around Huntlosen on a bright, still day at the end of March.

A wooden footbridge with metal railings leads straight into a stand of bare winter trees, their skeletal branches spreading across a pale sky. Warm golden light filters through the leafless canopy on both sides, illuminating green meadows beyond. The perspective draws the eye along the bridge's planked surface towards the open landscape in the distance.

The trees were still bare, the light already warmer than it had been for months. A few other walkers were out, but the paths were quiet. I found myself wondering what this stretch of countryside will look like once spring arrives.

Towards the end of the walk, there was an inviting little rest area on the edge of a country lane.

A rustic wooden bench and table sit beside a country lane at the edge of open fields in soft winter light. Next to a birch tree, two German road signs are mounted on a post: one reading "Privatweg – Durchfahrt verboten" (private road, no through traffic) and a 15 km/h speed limit sign, with a third sign below reading "Durchfahrt gesperrt" (road blocked). A neatly trimmed hedge lines the lane receding to the right.
